This Started When I Was Four Years Old.
My name is Lee Barrett. I’ve been building since I was four years old.
What began as tipping a box of bricks onto the living room floor became something much bigger. Building wasn’t just a toy. It was creativity. Engineering. Imagination. Control. Freedom.
And like many serious builders, I never stopped. As the builds got larger and more ambitious, so did the cost.
At some point, I started to notice something that didn’t sit right with me. The hobby I loved — the hobby that fuels creativity around the world — was becoming increasingly expensive. Large MOCs required serious budgets. Even small projects were starting to feel restrictive.
For builders who just want to create, that’s frustrating.
So I decided to do something about it.
Living Inside the Industry
I’ve lived in China for many years. And from here, I could see something most builders never get to see: how compatible bricks are actually manufactured.
Here’s the truth — quality varies massively.
Some factories produce outstanding bricks. Many do not.
- Clutch power can be inconsistent.
- Colours can drift.
- Edges can be rough.
- Plastic quality can vary dramatically.
The reputation of “compatible bricks” suffers because too many sellers simply buy the cheapest option available.
That was never going to be BrickForge.
A Mission, Not a Shortcut
I set out on a mission to find factories capable of producing high-quality compatible bricks at a reasonable price.
Not the cheapest bricks on the market. Not low-grade plastic. Not poor tolerances.
But precision-engineered components serious builders can rely on.
Because I live here in China, I can personally visit factories. I can inspect moulds. I can evaluate ABS quality. I can check clutch consistency. I can reject suppliers that don’t meet standard.
BrickForge isn’t built on guesswork. It’s built on oversight.
Why BrickForge Exists
BrickForge exists for one reason:
